Mothers of the abductees demand the Houthis to urgently release “Abu Zaid Al-Kumaim”

On Tuesday, the Association of Mothers of Abductees called on the Houthi group to “urgently release” the head of the Preparatory Committee of the Yemeni Teachers Club, “Abu Zaid al-Kumaim,” who has been kidnapped in its prisons since the eighth of last October.
The association condemned, in a statement published on the “X” platform, the continued kidnapping of the Houthi group, “Al-Kumaim,” against the backdrop of his demand for the payment of teachers’ salaries, “without taking into account his critical health condition due to his diabetes, which requires his immediate release.”
The statement expressed concern “about what Al-Kumaim is being subjected to and the circumstances of his kidnapping in Houthi prisons, in addition to his referral to the criminal prosecution for trial. On his last visit, he announced a hunger strike until his release from prison,” holding the Houthi group “fully responsible for... His life and safety.”
The statement called on the international community and all human rights and media organizations to put pressure and stand by the abductees “and work to solve their humanitarian issue and achieve social justice.”
On October 8, the Houthi group kidnapped Abu Zaid al-Kumaim from his home in the capital, Sana’a, and refused to release him despite the directives of the Public Prosecutor in Sana’a to release him.
