A dangerous phenomenon is spreading in Hadramaut, and mosque preachers warn

A number of preachers and imams of mosques in the city of Mukalla, the center of Hadramaut Governorate, called for the necessity of moving quickly in order to confront the phenomenon of the spread of "drugs" that has begun to threaten the security and stability of society. As well as unifying all efforts to protect youth and citizens from this scourge and eliminate it.
The preachers emphasized from their pulpits, on Friday, that drugs are the disease of societies and the cancer of nations, because of their dangerous effects in disrupting security, bringing corruption and chaos, deteriorating the economy, hindering development, disintegrating the family, and eliminating the cohesion of society.
The imam and preacher of the Broome Mosque, Sheikh Khaled Bamzahem, pointed out that drugs are a deadly weapon used by the enemies of Islam to weaken the nation, and that this weapon has claimed the lives of thousands and even millions, and because of it families have been separated, honor has been damaged, blood has been shed, diseases have spread, and minds have been disturbed. Because of it, hospitals were filled with asylums and insane people, and prisons were crowded with drug addicts and criminals.
He said in my Friday sermon: “Drugs and the spread of their abuse lead society to many crimes, immoralities, and family collapse. Many security studies have proven the existence of a strong bond between drug users and those who commit crimes, such as robbery, murder, rape, and robbery. The addict does not hesitate to commit any crime.” Crime, in order to obtain these drugs.”
He added that studies have also revealed that a large percentage of car accidents, in which innocent people are killed and many tragedies are left behind, are due to drivers’ use of drugs and alcohol, which causes them to be reckless and reckless. Calling on members of society not to remain silent about the spread of this scourge, and to inform those who use it and those who spread it, and covering up for them is a dangerous matter that puts members of society in the circle of participating in sin and sin.
Sheikh Khaled Bamzahim pointed out that there are many reasons that led to the spread of drugs in societies, the most prominent of which are weak religious faith, distance from religion, neglect of legal duties, and laxity in rulings, as young people in particular are easy prey for these deadly poisons. In addition to emptiness, which has a bad effect on its owner, he spends his time in what does not benefit him, but in what harms him, especially with the provision of opportunities for him, the ease of obtaining forbidden things, the abundance of stimuli and temptations, with weak guidance, lack of follow-up, and lack of monitoring.
He added that there is a lack of awareness of drugs and knowledge of their dangers and the disastrous consequences they have on humans. Not to mention the bad companions who are the reason for the increase in the number of users of these prohibited drugs. In addition to neglect of parents and their sometimes preoccupation with the burdens of life, loss of family and distance from them, illness, failure in studies, lack of marriage, failure in trade, and other life problems that help in deviation and being drawn into drug abuse.
The imam and preacher of the Broome Mosque stressed that the most important ways to eliminate this dangerous scourge begin with fear of God, sincere repentance, instilling faith in the souls of young and old, and cooperation among members of society to confront promoters and drug users. As well as assisting the agencies responsible for combating these prohibited items and striking with an iron fist all drug smugglers and drug dealers.
Sheikh Khaled Bamzahem stressed the need to intensify awareness within homes, schools, and from the pulpits of mosques, and to clarify the correct information for people to stand up to these poisons and their promoters.
