Centcom: The sinking of the Rubmar is a threat to the environment in the Red Sea

The US military command, Centcom, warned that the sinking of the Rubymar ship represents an environmental threat to the Red Sea, after it was targeted by a Houthi missile on February 18.
It warned in a statement that the ship represents a subsurface danger to other ships crossing the crowded shipping lanes at this water crossing.
She said that approximately 21,000 metric tons of ammonium phosphate sulphate fertilizer that the ship was carrying remains an environmental hazard in the Red Sea.
