Shrimp have died in large quantities in Hadramaut, and the Minister of Agriculture directs the formation of a committee

The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, Major General Salem Al-Soqatri, Chairman of the General Authority for Marine and Aquatic Sciences Research, directed Dr. Hanaa Rashid, formed a committee consisting of a research team, to study the phenomenon of the death of the shrimp resource, on the coastal strip in the Al-Shuhair area, in Hadramaut Governorate, to determine its causes, and to work to address it.
Dr. reported. Hanaa Rashid, in a press statement to the media, said that the members of the research committee, headed by the Director of the General Authority for Research and Marine Sciences Aquatic Biology Branch, Sabri Lajerb, along with a number of specialists from the Arabian Sea Fisheries Authority, went down to the coast of Al-Shuhair, the site of the shrimp death.
Dr. explained. Hanaa Rasheed said that the committee noted that there is nothing of concern from an environmental standpoint, regarding the possibility of marine pollution or wastewater pollution, noting that the phenomenon of mortality is for only one type of marine life, which is (shrimp), and pointed out that this phenomenon is considered natural. It occurs annually, as a result of climate change, which greatly affects the growth and reproduction of marine environmental resources.
Dr. confirmed. Hana Rashid concluded her statement by saying that the study of this natural phenomenon is still continuing, and laboratory tests are being conducted on the dead samples, to analyze the phenomenon in a scientific and documented manner, which does not cause concern.
