A protest stand for radio and television employees in Aden in front of Al-Ma’ashiq Palace

Radio and television employees at Aden Satellite Channel organized a protest on Sunday morning in front of Al-Ma’ashiq Palace due to the marginalization and neglect that the media sector has suffered since 2016 until this moment.
During the protest, they expressed their deep dissatisfaction with the humiliation they were subjected to by the political leadership, whether officials, contractors, or contributors who spent their lives serving the nation.
They emphasized their demand for settlements and bonuses for their salaries for more than ten years, and they have been suffering from marginalization and have been forcibly suspended from performing their work since the outbreak of war in Yemen until now, despite their acceptance of this situation out of awareness of what the country is going through.
They demanded that their salaries be raised and that the bonuses and settlements they were unjustly deprived of be included, and they hope for a new future that protects their legitimate rights as media professionals in the audiovisual field.
The protesters raised slogans reading, “We will knock on all peaceful doors to restore their rights to salaries, bonuses, and settlements confiscated by the Ministry of Finance under the pretext of the departure of Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak without signing their salary checks.”
