Urgent.. Stopping the Al-Wadiah port between Yemen and Saudi Arabia in front of the influx of travelers

The General Authority for Land Transport Affairs in Yemen announced a temporary suspension of flights through the Al-Wadiah land port between Yemen and Saudi Arabia for a period of three days, from Wednesday, March 6, 2024, to Friday, March 8, 2024.
Regarding the reasons for the closure, a source said that the severe overcrowding at the Al-Wadiah land port and the sorting point in Al-Abr district, greatly resulted in travelers suffering from the long waiting period, the lack of basic services, and the difficulty of reaching the sorting point.
In addition, some passenger transport companies did not adhere to the arrival time of flights according to the permission issued by the authority, which led to the exacerbation of the crisis.
Flights will resume through Al Wadiah port starting on Saturday, March 9, 2024, with an emphasis on the need for passenger transport companies to adhere to the specified schedule for their flights to facilitate the transit process for passengers and ensure the smooth flow of transport.
For days, Yemeni citizens traveling and performing Umrah have been suffering from the difficulty of crossing the Yemeni port due to severe crowding and overcrowding of travelers, and the failure of the port to handle it as required, while the Yemeni port carries the Saudi port, which receives small numbers of travelers while the rest are crowded at the doors of the Al-Wadiah port.
