Revealing the reason for the killing of student Rumaila Al-Sharabi in Sanaa

The Sanaa capital police revealed details of the causes of the death of university student “Rumaila Al-Sharabi” inside her car in mid-February.
The Capital Police stated that it received a report on Monday, February 12, 2024, about the disappearance of the student at Al-Razi University, “Rumaila Abdul Malik Ismail Al-Sharabi,” who was 23 years old.
Immediately upon receiving the report, an investigation was conducted and searched for her, until she was found at five o’clock in the evening on Thursday, February 25, dead inside her car - a Nitra -.
The Capital Police explained that security personnel found the car parked on the side of the public road in Bir Zahra neighborhood in the industrial complex neighborhood of Al-Wahda District, and the person called Rumaila Al-Sharabi was inside it, sitting in the driver’s seat, which was tilted back.
Because the doors and windows of the car were closed, they were opened by specialists, in the presence of forensic evidence and the prosecution.
It became clear through the examination of the body, the procedures for gathering evidence, the reports of the forensic specialists, and the forensic doctor’s report that “Rumaila Al-Sharabi” died inside the car as a result of her attempt to commit suicide by lighting a quantity of charcoal, which she placed inside a tin (tank) inside the car, and closing the doors. And the car windows and inhaling the gas resulting from coal, in addition to taking a quantity of sleeping pills.
Investigations and evidentiary procedures also revealed that she had been subjected to blackmail and threats by two people, and they were arrested.
It was also clear from witness statements that she had made a failed suicide attempt four days before the day of her death.
The police confirmed that they will refer the accused and the case file to justice as soon as the legal procedures are completed.
