The Public Prosecution releases 340 prisoners

In implementation of the directives of Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, His Excellency the Attorney General of the Republic, Judge Qaher Mustafa, the head and members of the Prisons Division at the Public Prosecution Office, and the heads of public and specialized prosecutions, directed the release of 340 prisoners who had served three-quarters or half of their sentences. In non-serious cases, on the occasion of the approaching month of Ramadan.
Sources in the Ministry of Justice and the Public Prosecution said, “The list of those released included 68 prisoners who had served more than three-quarters of their sentence, and 55 prisoners who had served half their sentence.”
She added that the list "also included the release of 65 prisoners in special rights cases, after paying their financial rights, in addition to the release of 109 prisoners on bail, and 41 prisoners who completed their sentences, in addition to two prisoners who were released due to... Because there is no basis for filing a lawsuit.
The presidential directives excluded those convicted of serious crimes or terrorism-related cases.
