The employees issued a statement, in which they said that they were subjected to a policy of persecution and marginalization by the university administration and the Houthi judicial guard, which seeks to destroy the university and turn it into a center for spreading their coup ideology.
The statement indicated that the militias practice various types of corruption and tamper with the rights and entitlements of employees and faculty members, deprive them of their fixed and variable entitlements, reduce their gratuities for the holy month of Ramadan, and deal with them in an immoral and disrespectful manner.
The statement called on the Faculty Union and the Employees Union to take urgent action to stop these unjust practices, defend their rights and dignity, and confront the Houthi plans aimed at destroying the university and the educational system in Yemen.
