The Minister of Endowments and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Aida Shabiba, issued today, in the temporary capital, Aden, a ministerial decision, the first article of which stipulated the formation of a committee to monitor and investigate the crescent of the blessed month of Ramadan for the current year 1445 AH, headed by astronomer Mr. Salem bin Omar Al-Jaidi, advisor to the Minister of Endowments and Guidance for affairs. Timings, crescent moons, and the membership of a number of judges and specialists.
The second article of the decision specifies the committee’s mission as monitoring and investigating the sighting of the crescent of the blessed month of Ramadan for this year 1445 AH, and providing evidence of whether the sighting is confirmed or not.
The decision of His Excellency the Minister allowed the committee to seek assistance from whomever it deems appropriate. With experience and knowledge of residential homes, the committee will begin its investigation work from the Amran and Faqam areas in the temporary capital of Aden, from Al-Mokha in Taiz Governorate, Al-Durayhimi in Al-Hudaydah Governorate, and from the Lebaous Yafa’ area in Lahj Governorate, which is 2,300 meters above sea level.
