The British Ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif, stressed the need for Yemeni women to participate in shaping the future of Yemen.

The ambassador said in her statement on the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8, 2024): “It is necessary for Yemeni women to participate substantially in shaping the future of Yemen, to ensure the achievement of positive peace that goes far beyond simply silencing the guns.”

She added that by ensuring their participation in building peace and the future of the country, “only then can we see women, girls and Yemen achieve their full potential.”

On Thursday, it announced a new partnership with the Yemeni private sector and local non-governmental organizations, aimed at enhancing the role of women.
