A Kuwaiti astronomer raises controversy about the date of the first day of the month of fasting “according to Sharia vision”

Kuwaiti astronomer Adel Al-Saadoun sparked controversy among his followers after publishing predictions regarding the first day of Ramadan, and that the crescent moon will be sighted on the evening of March 11, and the beginning of Ramadan will legally fall on March 12.
He wrote in his account on the “X” platform: “The blessed Ramadan is March 11 astronomically and March 12 according to Sharia sighting.. The crescent of the month of Ramadan is born on Sunday, Shaaban 29, 1445, corresponding to March 10, 2024, at 12 noon, and therefore it is impossible to see it on the same evening.” Not with the naked eye or with binoculars.”
The astronomer added: “The crescent will be sighted on the evening of March 11, and the beginning of Ramadan will be March 12, according to Sharia sighting.” He said: “The conjunction of the moon with the sun will be March 11.”
In response to his followers, a female tweeter commented, saying: “But we have Ramadan on Monday... We follow Al-Ajiri, may God have mercy on him.”
Al-Saadoun responded: “If you are ignorant... of the calculations of the moon... control your words... there is no us and them... reason a little and speak wisely, and the calculations of the moon do not know us and them except those in whose heart and mind there is a deficiency.”
He also responded to another tweeter who criticized his expectations, saying: “Hanbaqa Hanbaqa... Be a little wiser, be respectful and speak with respect, Hanbaqa... The ignorant person is the enemy of himself and society.”
