Thwarting a major Houthi attack in the Red Sea... shooting down 15 drones and two missiles

The US Central Command announced, on Saturday, that the United States and its allies were able to thwart a major Houthi attack in the Red Sea region, and inflicted heavy losses on the militias.
The US Central Command said, in a statement, that the Houthis carried out a large-scale attack with marches in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden this morning.
She added that "the Houthi drone attack represented an imminent threat to American commercial and naval ships and coalition ships in the region," stressing that "the United States and the allies were able to shoot down 15 unidirectional drones."
The US Army had recently announced that it had carried out a self-defense strike against two anti-ship missiles in areas controlled by the Houthis in Yemen.
The US military said, in a statement, that "the Houthis fired two ballistic missiles from Yemen at a ship flying the Singapore flag."
He added: "No injuries or damage were reported after the Houthis fired two ballistic missiles at a ship flying the Singapore flag."
Since last November, Houthi militias have been carrying out attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and Bab al-Mandab, saying they are linked to Israel or heading to its ports.
In an attempt to deter the Houthis and protect navigation in the strategic region through which 12% of global trade passes, since last January, American and British forces have launched a series of strikes on their military sites in Yemen.
Following the Western strikes, the Houthis began targeting American and British ships in the region, considering that the interests of both countries had become “legitimate targets.”
