The presidential office directs the release of 30 prisoners as a first batch

Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, directed the Public Prosecution to release 30 insolvent prisoners with special rights from various governorates as a first batch, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, and in accordance with the office of the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council assuming the rights of others. .
The directives include completing the procedures and measures necessary to release more insolvent prisoners under the law, and calling on businessmen and philanthropists to seize the opportunity of the holy month to contribute to these great humanitarian initiatives.
The directives come days after the Attorney General of the Republic, Judge Qaher Mustafa, announced the release of 340 prisoners who had served three-quarters or half of their sentences in non-serious cases, in implementation of presidential directives, on the occasion of the approaching holy month.
The list included the release of 68 prisoners who had served more than three-quarters of their sentence, and 55 prisoners who had served half their sentence. The list also included the release of 65 prisoners in special rights cases, after paying their financial rights, in addition to the release of 109 prisoners are on bail, and 41 prisoners have completed their sentences, in addition to two prisoners who were released due to the lack of any basis for filing a lawsuit.
