Difficult living conditions lead a citizen to commit suicide in Ibb, Yemen

A citizen committed suicide in Al-Qafr District, north of Ibb Governorate, which is under the control of the terrorist Houthi militia, Sunday, March 10, 2024 AD.
Local sources said that the citizen, Bakil Muhammad Muharram Hadim, from the people of Bani Omar, Al-Qafir District, committed suicide after being unable to provide for his family’s daily needs.
Sources suggested that the difficult living conditions in which he lived were what led him to commit suicide, as he supports a family consisting of three boys and three girls.
According to one of the residents of the area, the victim was reluctant to ask for help and was working as a soldier, and since the militia confiscated his salaries, he tried to work in various ways, but he could not find work or a source of income to support his family.
According to the sources, one of his relatives named “Nabil Hassan Saeed Hadim” had previously committed suicide by detonating a hand grenade on himself for the same reasons, while the Houthi militia authorities kept quiet about the incident.
Suicide cases have witnessed a noticeable increase in the governorate over the past years, in light of the difficult living conditions experienced by the people, which have left many with complexes and psychological and neurological diseases.
