A new maritime incident off the port of Hodeidah

British maritime security company Ambrey said on Monday that it had been made aware of an incident involving a missile west of the port city of Hodeidah on the Red Sea coast.
In a separate incident, the British Maritime Trade Operations Authority said it had received a report of an incident 71 miles away. One nautical mile southwest of the port of Salif.
The authority did not clarify the nature of the incident, but said that the authorities were investigating it.
The Houthis announced since November 19, targeting commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea that they suspected of being linked to Israel or heading to its ports. They say that this comes in support of the Gaza Strip, which has been witnessing a war between Hamas and Israel since October 7.
Following the Western strikes, the Houthis began targeting American and British ships in the region, considering that the interests of the two countries have become “legitimate targets.”
