The National Center of Meteorology expects rain of varying intensity to fall in a number of governorates, and hot weather during the day in deserts, regions and coastal plains during the next 24 hours.
The center said in its weather bulletin that it expects rain of varying intensity, which may sometimes be accompanied by thunder, on parts of the Tihama Plain, the western coast, and parts of the governorates of Lahj, Al-Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, and the Socotra Archipelago.
According to forecasts, the weather may be hot during the day in the deserts and inland plateaus, where the maximum temperatures range between 37-40 degrees Celsius, hot and humid in the coastal areas and plains, and the temperature ranges between 35-38.
The center indicated the possibility of active to strong winds around the Socotra Archipelago, with speeds ranging between 15-25 knots.
It was stated that the amount of rain that fell during the past 24 hours and was measured at weather monitoring stations in Al-Kaden: 3.2 mm, in Sarfit: 0.1, and rain also fell on parts of Taiz, Raymah, Al-Hudaydah, the Tihama Plain, and the western coast, and it was outside the scope of the monitoring stations.< /p>
The center warned citizens against being in the depths of valleys and flood paths, against thunderstorms, the use of mobile phones, and against the decrease in horizontal visibility during rainfall.
He advised against direct exposure to sunlight for a long period in areas expected to witness hot weather.
It also alerted fishermen, ship captains and seafarers of the turbulent sea and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago.
