The US Central Command, Centcom, announced that it carried out 6 strikes against a drone submarine and 18 anti-ship missiles belonging to the Houthis.

It said in a statement, "The US Central Command carried out 6 self-defense strikes that destroyed an underwater drone ship and 18 anti-ship missiles in areas controlled by the Houthis in Yemen."

It stated that the targeted weapons represented “an imminent threat to commercial and US Navy ships in the region.”

She explained that “these measures are being taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for the US Navy and commercial ships.”
