The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Gudenberg, said that the current escalation in Yemen will increase the difficulty of the existing mediation.

Gudenberg warned that the situation in Yemen is sliding again towards two years of relative stability.

He added by saying:

- The Yemeni parties may decide to embark on a dangerous military adventure that will return Yemen to a new spiral of war.

- The solution lies in an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to prevent escalation in the region.
