The United Nations warns of the impact of the Houthi escalation on the safety of civilians

The United Nations warned that the escalation of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia in the Red Sea affects the safety of civilians, stressing that it is necessary to provide the population’s food needs.
The United Nations, during the Security Council meeting, regarding developments in the situation in Yemen, today, Thursday, called on donors to provide the necessary assistance to meet the security and humanitarian needs.
The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, said in a briefing to the Security Council that we are focusing mediation efforts on working with the parties to bridge the gaps and identify ways to initiate a ceasefire.
He revealed efforts aimed at improving living conditions and launching a political process, based on the commitments made by the parties last December, expressing his gratitude to all concerned international parties for confirming their firm support for the peace process.
