The Houthis announce the targeting of ships and preventing them from sailing towards Good Hope

The Houthi group said on Thursday that it is moving towards escalation and pursuing “Israeli ships” in the Indian Ocean.
The leader of the group, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, said that he intends to prevent ships from crossing the Indian Ocean towards the Good Hope Road.
In this context, the group’s spokesman, Muhammad Abdel Salam, said in a post on the X(X) platform that his group is moving “towards escalation by pursuing Israeli ships in the Indian Ocean and preventing them from sailing towards Good Hope.”
He indicated that this comes as a result of the Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip.
He added: International shipping companies linked to Israel must take this escalation very seriously, and realize that any ship linked to Israel is vulnerable to Yemeni missiles.
Houthi attacks on ships during the recent period were limited to the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean, which are open waters and a large transit area for commercial ships.
After the cessation of navigation in the Red Sea, ships between the East and West used to cross the long route towards the Cape of Good Hope.
