A Republican senator suggests that Biden sink Iranian ships to help the Houthis

Republican Senator Dan Sullivan presented a strong and frank proposal to the administration of President Joe Biden regarding the threats facing American ships in the Red Sea from the Iran-backed Houthi group.
In his letter, Sullivan demanded that Iran be threatened with sinking its ships if the Houthi group continues its attacks on American ships.
While Sullivan spoke about the ineffectiveness of US attacks on Houthi targets in stopping their attacks, he stressed the need to send a strong message to Iran that the United States will not tolerate the targeting of its ships and the killing of its sailors. He also pointed out that Iranian spy ships are providing the Houthis with information to sink American ships, which makes the situation more complicated.
Although deterrence may be temporary, Sullivan stressed the need for Iran to bear the consequences of its alliance with the Houthis and provide them with support in their attacks. He stressed that Iran must pay the price if it does not get rid of its terrorist agents and make deterrence effective instead of just a passing threat.
Overall, Sullivan made a strong and clear proposal to the Biden administration on how to deal with Iranian and Houthi threats to US maritime security. It appears to call for decisive measures to protect American ships and effectively implement deterrence against terrorist alliances targeting the Red Sea and the region in general.
