Amnesty International renews its call to the Houthi militia to release Baha’i detainees

Amnesty International, on Friday, called on the Houthi group to release its Baha’i detainees, as the organization confirmed in a statement that Houthi forces stormed a peaceful gathering of Baha’is in Sana’a and arbitrarily detained 17 members of the Baha’i community, including five women and human rights workers. And humanitarian aid.
The organization indicated that since that incident, 12 people have been released under international pressure, but five of them are still arbitrarily detained by the Houthi intelligence services without their right to obtain legal advice.
The organization warned that the remaining five Baha’i detainees are at risk of further violations at the hands of the armed group, including torture and ill-treatment, which makes its call for their immediate and unconditional release necessary.
