Aden airport authorities thwart the smuggling of a large quantity of khat plant

Aden International Airport security authorities arrested a traveler who attempted to smuggle a large quantity of the drug “khat” on board one of the airlines operating at the airport to an Arab country.
A security source at the airport said that the traveler sought to smuggle a quantity of the green drug khat, as he hid it inside a bag with a red dress, but Aden Airport security personnel uncovered his trick and arrested him in preparation for referring him to the competent authorities to complete the case procedures.
The security authorities also stopped the traveler, prevented him from traveling, seized the seized quantity of khat, opened an investigation with him, and transferred him to the competent authorities for punishment in accordance with the law and order.
The Director General of Aden International Airport, Mr. Abdul Raqeeb Al-Omari, praised the security vigilance enjoyed by the security authorities at the airport through the security achievements they achieved in their effort to preserve the nation’s reputation and prevent the export of contraband from our country abroad.
