A southern forces officer survived an assassination attempt in Abyan

First Lieutenant Mahmoud Baraber, Staff of the 2nd Battalion of the 6th Support and Support Brigade, survived a failed assassination attempt when an explosive device exploded in Wadi Omran in the Modiya District, east of Abyan Governorate, today, Wednesday.
Local sources said that the forces of the Sixth Support and Support Brigade found an explosive device planted in Wadi Omran. The competent authorities were notified, and a force from the brigade headed to the location of the device to remove it.
While First Lieutenant Mahmoud Baraber was at the site of the device, and after using bullets to detonate it and cut its wires, he approached it to examine it closely. Suddenly, the device was detonated remotely using a remote control device, resulting in shrapnel wounds to his body.
First Lieutenant Mahmoud Baraber was transferred to a hospital in Aden to receive the necessary treatment, and his health condition is stable.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time that Commander Barber has been subjected to an assassination attempt, as he was subjected to two previous attempts in Wadi Omran in Modiya District.
