The Houthi militia prevents meals from inmates in a Taiz prison

A number of prisoners from the security department of Khadir District in Taiz Governorate, which is under the control of the Houthi coup militia, complained that their various meals, which they receive, were confiscated by the Al-Zailai Charitable Foundation, affiliated with the famous philanthropist Abdo Ali Al-Zailai.
Private sources told Khabar Agency that the Directorate’s Security Director, Issam Saber, and his security officers have been seizing the prison inmates’ meals, especially the “lunch meal” - on days other than Ramadan - provided by the Al-Zailai Foundation, on a daily basis, for more than three years.
She added that the security officers receive these food supplies, to deliver them as they are to support the prisoners, but they confiscate large quantities of them, and provide the prisoners with only a small amount of them.
The sources indicated that the institution allocated 30 chickens to prisoners on a daily basis, supported by its cook’s servants, in addition to allocating 3 cartons of beans for breakfast and dinner.
The day before yesterday evening, one of the prisoners swore that he would not feel full throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
One of the inmates told Khabar Agency that he and his colleagues are asking the security administration to allocate decent meals, even as a matter of the prisoner’s rights, noting that despite what they get from the prisoners’ homes, most of them are fighting hunger.
He appealed to the Al-Zailai Foundation to look into what prisoners are exposed to in terms of the confiscation of their meals, without it knowing what is happening to him and his colleagues.
