Maersk refuses to return its ships from crossing the Red Sea

Maersk Shipping, one of the world's largest shipping companies, announced that it will not resume traffic through the Red Sea at the present time, due to the continued high level of risks in the region, despite European initiatives to improve safety.
The company has suspended shipping traffic through the Red Sea since January 5, preferring to divert the route via the Cape of Good Hope route, as a result of the attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia on commercial ships and maritime shipping traffic.
According to a statement issued by Maersk, the company is aware that there are other companies considering resuming sailing in the Red Sea, but emphasizes its commitment to its current assessment.
