Due to non-payment of new taxes, the Al-Marasim and Al-Sharq Al-Awsat restaurants in Aden were closed

The management of Al-Marasim and Al-Sharq Al-Awsat restaurants in Aden said that they were subjected to an arbitrary closure operation on Monday evening by a security force and officials in the local authorities.
The restaurant management said that the two restaurants were closed under the pretext of being required to pay 3% of the value of each bill to the local authorities and the tourism office.
The restaurant management indicated that it pays all the taxes required to be paid monthly according to the law.
The management of the two restaurants explained that the closing process took place half an hour before breakfast, which caused them serious financial damage.
The management of the two restaurants appealed to Governor Ahmed Hamed Lamlas to intervene to remove the damage to them and review these procedures, noting that the people’s living conditions cannot tolerate any financial additions above the value of the meals.
