The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council issued a decision, on Tuesday, appointing “Sha’i Mohsen al-Zindani” as Minister of Foreign Affairs, succeeding Prime Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak, who was holding the position simultaneously with his presidency of the Yemeni government.

The government agency Saba reported that the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council issued Resolution No. (100) of 2024 AD, the first article of which stipulated the appointment of Dr. Shaye Mohsen Al-Zindani as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs.

Born in Jahaf District, Al Dhalea Governorate.

He holds a doctorate in law, and an honorary doctorate in international and political relations.

He held many high-ranking assignments in the diplomatic corps over a period of 35 years.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen in the period from 1986-1990.

Appointed Yemen's ambassador to Britain 1993-1994

Ambassador - Advisor to the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Yemen to the United Nations - Geneva 1994-1997 and Italy, 2006-2010 and a non-resident ambassador to Greece, Albania, Serbia, and Jordan 2010-2014.

Appointed Permanent Representative to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

He served as the Yemeni consul in Saudi Arabia, before being appointed ambassador in December 2016.
