The United Nations seeks help from Russia to solve the Yemeni crisis... and a new declaration by “Moscow”

The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, has resumed his movements regarding a solution in Yemen, using Russian influence to achieve this.
The Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, and the UN Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, discussed efforts to bring peace to Yemen in light of the ongoing escalation in the Red Sea.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, “On March 27, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister M.L. Bogdanov, received the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Hans Grundberg.”
The statement added: “During the call, there was a detailed exchange of views on issues of resolving the military and political crisis in the Republic of Yemen, including taking into account the continuing escalation of tension in the Red Sea.”
The statement explained that "the two sides stressed the importance of increasing international support for efforts aimed at establishing a sustainable national dialogue between Yemenis under the auspices of the United Nations."
The statement indicated that, during the meeting, Grundberg was briefed on the Russian side’s contacts with representatives of various Yemeni political forces, as well as regional partners within the framework of promoting the normalization of the situation in and around Yemen, including resolving the accumulated social, economic and humanitarian problems.< /p>
