The Security Belt forces in Abyan Governorate deployed search and investigation teams and imposed a security cordon following a car bomb explosion that targeted the convoy of Major General Fadl Baash, commander of the Special Security Forces Aden (Aden, Abyan, Lahj Al-Dhalea), who survived, thanks to God, while 5 of his companions were slightly injured.
Colonel Mahmoud Al-Kaldi, head of Abyan belt operations, who led the operation to secure the bombing site, confirmed that the bombing bears the hallmarks of the terrorist Al-Qaeda organization, and our forces worked to secure the bombing site and prevented citizens from reaching it, and any potential terrorist incidents are being dealt with.
Al-Kaldi said: “Our units in Abyan immediately after the bombing occurred that targeted the convoy of Major General Ba’esh near the local authority building in the capital, Zanzibar, rushed to the site, prevented the citizens from approaching, and took control of the situation. Thank God, the terrorists did not achieve what they planned.
He added, our units, with the help of research and investigation teams at the Abyan Governorate Security Department, are conducting an investigation to uncover the threads of the cowardly terrorist incident.
