Wounded Yemeni government forces set up an open sit-in tent in central Ma'rib

Dozens of wounded government forces set up, on Monday evening, an open sit-in tent, next to the building of the Social Welfare House Department and the headquarters of the Third Military Region in the center of Ma’rib city, northeastern Yemen.
The wounded protesters blocked Sanaa's main road in the center of Ma'rib city, and set fire to damaged tires in protest against the non-payment of their late salaries for the past four months.
The wounded protesters considered that stopping the payment of their salaries for the past four months was a disregard for their rights and a lack of appreciation for their sacrifices or awareness of their suffering, despite the approaching Eid al-Fitr.
The protesters demanded that the Presidential Command Council, the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Defense, and the Chief of Staff be paid their late salaries for the months (January, February, and March 2024) and the salary for December 2023, and they held them responsible for the aggravation of their suffering.
They also demanded that their salaries be raised to meet their essential needs in light of the high prices of food and basic needs, as a result of the continuing economic collapse, and that all the wounded be promoted and financially supported, and that a monthly food allowance be approved for the wounded and disabled.
This comes a week after a protest was carried out by the wounded in front of the Social Welfare Building, to demand the disbursement of their late salaries, accusing the Social Welfare Department and the Ministry of Finance of obstructing their disbursement.
