Local sources said that 80% of petroleum stations in the capital, Aden, sell poor-quality oil imported from Ma’rib Governorate.
The sources explained that this petroleum causes problems in car engines, as it leads to their corrosion and decreased performance.
The sources added that this oil is sold at these stations on the basis that it is oil imported through the Yemeni Oil Company, and is sold at a price of 25 thousand Yemeni riyals per liter.
It is worth noting that the Yemeni Oil Company in Aden used to send inspection teams to the stations to monitor pricing, quality and quantity, but these teams were absent these days and did not fulfill their assigned role.
Selling bad petroleum at Aden stations is a crime against citizens, as it causes damage to their vehicles, and the absence of inspection teams from the stations is evidence of the Yemeni Oil Company not adhering to its responsibilities.
The sources called on the responsible authorities to intervene immediately to stop the sale of bad oil at Aden stations, and to take the necessary legal measures against violators.
