Civil Defense sounds the alarm about slums in Wadi Al-Azam in Al-Haswah and appeals to the Aden authority to take action

The head of the Civil Defense Authority, Brigadier General Muhammad Nasser Al-Shabaan, directed the branches of the authority in the governorates expected to be affected by the air depression, to raise preparedness and take all necessary measures to enhance full readiness and rapid response to deal with the effects of the expected air depression and to respond quickly to citizens’ reports in order to preserve their lives and property, especially with The presence of the depression that struck a number of eastern governorates and may reach the governorates neighboring Aden Governorate.
This came during a visit by the Head of the Civil Defense Service, Brigadier General Muhammad Nasser Al-Shabaan, today, to the flood channel in the Al-Hasawa area, in the Buraiqa District in the capital, Aden, which may witness the occurrence of torrential floods coming from Wadi Taban.
During the visit, Brigadier General Al-Shabaan, accompanied by Captain Sultan Mujahid, accompanied by the Director of the People’s Police, Colonel Obaid Saleh Mohsen, was briefed on the flood lanes leading to the sea in the Al-Haswa area, Al-Buraiqa District, in anticipation of any emergency due to climate change, according to meteorological warnings about the occurrence of heavy rains and torrential rains that may lead to Disasters, and overcoming any potential disasters.
Stressing the importance of raising the readiness of vehicles and forming joint operations rooms to coordinate and follow up on developments related to the depression, exchanging information with the concerned authorities and making the necessary decisions to address any emergency that may occur, calling on civil defense crews to take all necessary precautionary measures to confront the climate changes that they may face. The capital, Aden, and its neighboring governorates, working to open the flood lanes, and removing all obstacles standing in the way of the flood lanes leading to the sea.
Noting the importance of enhancing public awareness among citizens living in the Great Valley and exercising caution and following safety instructions during harsh weather conditions, in order to avoid any disaster that may occur as a result of the flow of torrential waters through the valley on its way to the sea, calling on citizens to cooperate with civil defense teams and remove all Obstacles that stand in the way of flood paths leading to the sea to facilitate the process of rainwater drainage and limit its harm to citizens and their property.
Brigadier Al-Shabaan appealed to the local authority in Aden Governorate to remove the random construction that constitutes an obstacle to the flood paths leading to the sea in the Al-Haswa area, Buraiqa District.
