Lebanese newspaper: European parties requested Omani mediation to avoid attacks in the Red Sea

The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, which is close to Hezbollah, said that it had learned from its sources that European parties had requested Omani mediation during the recent period to avoid Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.
According to the newspaper, sources close to the Houthi group revealed that “ASPEEDS” to protect European ships asked the Sultanate of Oman to play the role of mediator between it and the Houthi group to open lines of communication between them.
According to the newspaper's sources, they said that the "Aspids" request comes from the Houthi group to open communications lines so that a clash of interests between the group and its ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden does not result.
The sources did not clarify further whether the Houthis agreed to this request.
