Launching the communication and strategic communication course for the Community Peace Authority in the Mukalla City Directorate

A communication and strategic communication course was launched this morning in the city of Mukalla, in the presence of the Director General of the Mukalla City Directorate, Brigadier General Abdullah Salem Bayashout, which is implemented by the Community Peace Commission in the Mukalla City Directorate in partnership with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and with funding from USAID.
The course, which was trained by Dr. Muhammad bin Jumaan, included on its first day an introduction to the objectives, controls, and pre-evaluation of the course, in addition to the concept and importance of communication in the life of society, the main elements of the communication process and its types, obstacles to communication and its channels, the skill of listening, non-verbal communication, and body language.
While the course, on its second and third day, addresses the concept and principles of strategic communication, how to communicate internally between members of the body, how to formulate messages, the importance of effective community communication in resolving conflicts, the role of traditional media, and reviewing the proposed strategies for effective communication with society, among others.
For his part, Brigadier General Abdullah Bayashut praised the prominent and effective role played by the Community Peace Commission in the Directorate through its successful interventions in resolving many conflicts, which contributed to reducing pressure on the security services and courts at the level of the Mukalla City Directorate.
Bay Aashout pointed out that the Authority has been and continues to be of great assistance to the local authority in the Directorate, along with the community committees in the Directorate, in resolving conflicts and dismantling problems and issues, stressing that the Authority will always enjoy the cooperation and continuous support of the local authority in the Directorate.
