The Chairman of the Leadership Council confirms the Council’s commitment to the peace option in accordance with its national, regional and international references

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received yesterday, Tuesday, United Nations Special Envoy Hans Grundberg.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council heard from the UN envoy a briefing on the results of his recent contacts at the national, regional and international levels, and the priorities required to revive the course of the political process, including the ongoing discussions regarding guarantees for the Houthi militias to stop their terrorist attacks on various fronts, and to listen to the voice of reason. And giving priority to the interests of the Yemeni people over any other interests.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed, on behalf of himself and the members of the Council, and the government’s full support for the efforts of our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United Nations Special Envoy, in order to revive the peace process in Yemen and alleviate the burden of living conditions that were exacerbated by the terrorist attacks of the Houthi militias on oil installations. And international shipping lines with the support of the Iranian regime.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council also affirmed the commitment of the Council and the government to deal positively with all efforts aimed at bringing peace to Yemen in accordance with national, regional and international references, especially Resolution 2216, which represents an optimal road map to achieve the aspirations of all Yemenis.
His Excellency the President reiterated the importance of focusing international mediation on the actions and not the words of terrorist militias to verify their seriousness in dealing with peace efforts, including stopping their war escalation, their terrorist attacks on civilian facilities and objects, their gross violations of human rights, and the militarization of social life. And release all detainees, and end its unilateral measures that are destructive to the national economy, and the restrictions imposed on the movement of money, goods, and employees’ salaries in the areas under its control by force.
