A joint security campaign from the governorate police with its various security units and the Shabwa Defense Forces, and under the direct supervision of the Director General of the governorate police, Brigadier General Fouad Muhammad al-Nasi, was able, this Wednesday afternoon, to arrest two gunmen who attempted to assassinate the commander of the tourist police in Shabwa governorate, on Wednesday. Last Sunday.

The security campaign succeeded in arresting the first accused, named (S, M, A, A), and the second, named (S, M, A, A, A), in one of the houses in the residential neighborhoods south of the city of Ataq. They attempted to assassinate Captain Salem Masoud. Al-Dahboul, commander of the tourist police in Shabwa Governorate, was injured along with a number of his companions in the city of Ataq last Sunday. 1

This operation came as a result of the efforts made by the security services to monitor and follow up on the accused, and with the cooperation and coordination carried out by the governorate police, with various military brigades, units and factions and the mutual trust established by the Shabwa Governorate Police.

Those accused of attempting to assassinate the tourist police chief, Captain Salem Al-Dahboul, and his companion, were transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department, and they will be investigated and referred to the competent prosecution to be tried in accordance with the law and order.

During the past period, the security services in Shabwa Governorate achieved a number of achievements at the security level and put down many of the disturbances and problems that occur from time to time in the governorate.

The Director General of Shabwa Governorate Police, Brigadier General Fouad Al-Nasi, praised Governor Bin Al-Wazir’s follow-up and interest in the security efforts made by the security and military services in the governorate, in combating crime, following up on those wanted by security forces and those who are out of order and the law, and curbing criminal plans that attempt to destabilize security and stability.
