The Land Protection Unit in Aden accuses "Hawamir" of financing a protest against it

The Land Protection Unit in Aden issued an explanatory statement, on Wednesday, in response to a recent protest organized against it, in which it accused influential parties of financing this protest with the aim of distorting the role of the unit and returning Aden to a “square of fighting and chaos.”
The statement said: “The Land Protection Unit is aware in advance of those who coordinated and prepared for this stance, which was funded by people and entities who carried everything malicious and destructive to Aden, with the aim of distorting the role of the Land Protection Unit, whose destructive projects caused us death.”
The statement indicated that these “plunderers and oppressors” are known to everyone in Aden, and their names topped the list before the formation of the Land Protection Unit was “incidents of plunder, plunder, fighting, and bloodshed.”
The statement accused them of "trying to return territorial chaos to the capital, Aden, after it had witnessed remarkable stability during the previous two years."
The statement explained that the Land Protection Unit is “the only executive body that issues free construction notices in accordance with building permits issued by the competent directorates and authorities.”
The statement added, “What is happening today is a false slander aimed at bringing back the era of chaos, plunder, fighting, and tearing apart the southern social fabric through the land issue.”
The statement confirmed that the Land Protection Unit possesses “files condemning the corruption, plunder, and tyranny of these people, and they will be submitted to the Minister of State, Governor of the Capital, in preparation for referring them to His Excellency the Public Prosecutor, so that all of them may receive their just punishment according to the law.”
At the conclusion of the statement, the Land Protection Unit praised “the community awareness of citizens, writers, journalists, and active activists” who stood with it against the “funded stance.”
