Yesterday afternoon, Al-Kathiri neighborhood in Mansoura District witnessed a massive demonstration by the neighborhood’s residents, rejecting the conversion of a public street into a plot of land that someone has been trying to build for days.

The residents of the martyr Abu Al-Yamamah neighborhood, Al-Kathiri Street, said that they refuse to turn the main street into a pavement.

They indicated that they were surprised more than a week ago by a person claiming that he had ownership papers for a land located on a public street and the entrance to their neighborhood.

The residents affirmed their rejection of such behavior, which reflects a state of chaos, and were surprised by some officials’ disbursement of public street papers.

The people appealed to the governor of Aden to intervene to stop the drainage process and enable them to pave the street.

The people confirmed that their protests will continue until attempts to build the illegal street stop.
