Houthis: Our naval attacks will expand and reach the Indian Ocean

With the resumption of attacks on ships in the Red Sea during the past two days, after a relative calm that lasted for two weeks, the Houthi leader, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, renewed his assertion that “military naval operations are continuing.”
He said in a video speech he delivered on Thursday that his group seeks to expand its attacks on ships in the Indian Ocean, after previously announcing that it had begun carrying out attacks in the ocean as well.
He also reiterated that as long as the Israeli war and siege on the Gaza Strip continues, attacks south of the Red Sea will continue.
In addition, it was claimed that the rate of targeting ships linked to Israel reached one ship every two days. He added that the number of targeted Israeli ships reached 102 during the 202 days of the war on Gaza.
Also, he pointed out that these attacks cost Washington dearly, saying that “insurance operations on one ship for some companies in America amounted to $50 million.”
He considered that the American moves to stop attacks on ships were draining Washington financially and affecting it economically, according to him..
These statements came a few hours after an attack targeted a ship southwest of Aden, and a day after an attempt to attack an American ship with 18 American citizens on board as well.
Since November 19, the Houthi group has attempted to target more than 130 commercial cargo ships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, with drones and missiles, claiming that they are linked to Israel or heading to its ports, in support of the Gaza Strip, which has been witnessing a violent Israeli war since October 7. According to what she said
These attacks forced commercial companies to switch to a longer and more expensive route around Africa.
It also led to the sinking of a cargo ship named "Rubimar", which was loaded with dangerous materials. One of the attacks also resulted in the death of 3 sailors as a result of a missile attack on the ship True Confidence, which was flying the Barbados flag and was operated by Greece.
Also, these attacks fueled fears that the war between Israel and Hamas would destabilize the Middle East region, especially after Israel struck the Iranian embassy in Damascus in early April, and Tehran responded to this attack by launching more than 300 marches and missiles into Israel. Then Israel attacked Iranian military sites in Isfahan.
