Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the killing of 4 Yemeni workers in the bombing of a gas field in Iraqi Kurdistan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen condemned in the strongest terms the bombing of the Kormo gas field in the Sulaymaniyah Governorate in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq with a drone of unknown origin, according to the statement issued by the Ministry of Electricity in the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, which resulted in the killing of four Yemeni workers and the wounding of a number of others with minor injuries. The Ministry confirmed in a press statement that it is “in continuous coordination and continuous follow-up with our country’s embassy in Baghdad, which is conducting extensive contacts with those concerned in the brotherly Republic of Iraq and the authorities of the Kurdistan region to find out the merits and circumstances of the incident.” The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted in Tatat that “it is working in coordination with The concerned authorities for the possibility of evacuating and delivering the bodies of the martyred Yemeni workers to the homeland are: 1- Ali Abdo Ahmed Nasser 2- Youssef Yasser Hammoud Farea 3- Issam Muhammad Ahmed Al-Kazmi 4- Awad Abdo Ali Al-Mayas. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of those killed, asking God Almighty to shower them with His vast mercy and dwell them in His spacious paradise, and to grant a speedy recovery to the wounded.
The French news agency reported on Friday evening that a drone bombing targeted the Kormor gas field in Iraqi Kurdistan on Friday, killing 4 Yemeni workers, as announced by the official spokesman for the regional government, Peshwa Hawramani.
