United Nations: We regret the obstruction of efforts to end the Yemen war

The United Nations expressed its regret for obstructing the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to end the ongoing war in Yemen, for the ninth year.
This was stated by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, in television statements yesterday, Sunday.
Guterres said that previous efforts had reached important results with the Houthi group affiliated with Iran, and a preliminary understanding that would have allowed the United Nations to move forward towards the peace agreement.
The Secretary-General of the United Nations did not name the party responsible for obstructing Saudi peace efforts.
The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, said in his briefing before the UN Security Council in the middle of this month that the road map for peace in Yemen faltered due to the military escalation in the Red Sea and developments in the region.
