The Prosecution of Industry and Trade in Aden destroys a shipment of medicines for violating storage standards

The Prosecution of Industry and Commerce in the temporary capital, Aden, issued its decision today to destroy a shipment of medicines estimated at 425 cartons of irrigation solution, nutritional supplements, and vitamins belonging to the Global Organization in criminal case No. (39) due to its violation of storage standards, under direct instructions and follow-up from the Public Prosecutor, His Eminence Judge Qaher Mustafa.
The destruction process was supervised by the Acting Prosecutor for Industry and Trade, Judge Dr. Sumaya Al-Qobati, with the committee formed by the Deputy Prosecutor for Security and Research, Judge Bassam Ghaleb, and the Director General of the Free Zone Police, Brigadier General Abdul Salam Al-Omari, and from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Director General of Consumer Protection Fadel Sweileh and the Director General of Ministry Operations. Abdul Salam Mansour, from the Office of Industry and Trade in Aden, Director of Supply Control, Omar Abbad, and my representative from the Ministry of Planning, Youssef Aidaroos, and the Customs and Free Zone Authority.
Judge Somaya Al-Qobati explained that after emptying the 40-foot container in preparation for its destruction, the medical supplies were sorted and released, which were chlorine floor cleaners, masks and clothing for heart and kidney operations, obstetrics and gynecology operations, surgical cafés, an infrared temperature gauge, and Vaseline, noting that the prosecution’s decision The destruction came based on the importer’s request to reconcile with the prosecution in accordance with the applicable legal texts.
Judge Somaya expressed her appreciation for the positive step taken by Global and the subsequent importing organizations and merchants who submitted a request to return shipments of medicines to the country of origin due to their importation of medicines in dry iron containers, confirming the validity and soundness of the decision of the Chief Prosecutor of Appeals in South Aden, Judge Waddah Badhib, who After studies were carried out based on legal texts requiring the destruction of any shipments of medicines imported using illegal methods in order to preserve the safety and health of the consumer.
She also appreciated the positive and prominent role of the member of the Supreme Judicial Council, His Eminence Judge Sabah Alwan, who devoted her time to closely following the procedures of these sensitive and important cases and her constant emphasis on the necessity of protecting the citizen from these illegal practices.
