According to security sources, the campaign forces advanced with the aim of removing barricades and trenches created by militants in Wadi Dan, where they faced resistance from the militants who barricaded themselves in homes, and they fired gunfire and RPG shells at the campaign forces.
Thanks to their precise plans, the campaign members were able to circumvent the militants, arrest 21 of them, and seize various weapons and ammunition in their possession.
The sources indicated that some of the gunmen fled the area, leaving their weapons behind, while others barricaded themselves in houses where women and children were present.
The campaign forces are currently continuing to besiege the locations where the militants are holed up, and are working to persuade them to surrender themselves without resistance.
Security sources confirmed that one of the militants was killed and wounded during the confrontations, and two soldiers from the campaign were injured, one from the Security Belt and the other from the Giants Brigades, and all the injured were transferred to receive treatment.
