The General Administration of Hadhramaut Coast Security inaugurates Arab Traffic Week in Mukalla

The General Administration of Security and Police in Hadhramaut Coast launched today, Sunday in Mukalla, Arab Traffic Week under the slogan “With our awareness we arrive safe” to educate the community about traffic rules and etiquette.
Deputy Director of Security for the Hadhramaut Coast, Brigadier General Abdulaziz Al-Jabri, during his inauguration of Traffic Week, commissioned by the Director General of Security and Police, Brigadier General Mutee Saeed Al-Menhali, stressed the importance of educating community members about traffic rules and etiquette, and adhering to them to avoid road accidents, and preserving people’s lives by intensifying aspects Awareness through various media urges people to adhere to traffic regulations and instructions as a religious, national and moral duty to achieve public safety on the roads.
Brigadier General Al-Jabri praised the efforts made by traffic police in the streets and roads in various cities of the Hadhramaut coast to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and prevent traffic congestion, noting that the large number of accidents caused by recklessness and excessive speed, which kill dozens of people annually, grieves the hearts of the security and police leadership. He called on parents to educate their children who use vehicles and motorcycles to adhere to safe driving in order to preserve their safety, stressing the readiness of the security units to participate in the success of Arab Traffic Week and achieve its goals in traffic awareness.
The Director of the Traffic Police in Hadhramaut Coast, Colonel Muammar Al-Mashjari, reviewed the statistics and unfortunate traffic accidents during the past months of this year, which amounted to (97) accidents, including (18) car collisions, (10) rollover accidents, (28) pedestrian collisions, and (1) Hitting a fixed object, (30) car-bike collisions, and (10) bicycle-bike collision accidents that left (7) deaths and injury to (140) others, pointing out that violating traffic etiquette and rules, speeding, overloading, wrong overtaking, negligence, and being distracted other than the road during... Driving vehicles is one of the most important causes of traffic accidents, stressing that the week will also be an opportunity to educate citizens about the importance of numbering, and after that a compulsory traffic campaign will be implemented to oblige citizens to adhere to law and order, in continuation of previous compulsory traffic campaigns.
