A British authority receives a report of two explosions near a ship south of Aden

The British Trade Operations Authority said today, Tuesday, May 7, that it had received a report indicating that two explosions had occurred near a commercial ship south of the Yemeni city of Aden.
It stated in a statement published on the “X” platform that it had received a report from the captain of a commercial ship about two explosions occurring near him, 82 nautical miles south of Aden.”
It confirmed that the accident did not result in any damage. It called on all ships to be careful and to inform them of any suspicious activities that they might be exposed to due to the accident.
The British Authority did not reveal any details regarding the nationality of the ship that reported the accident.
Since November 19, the Houthi group, classified as a terrorist group, has been carrying out attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea, which they say are linked to Israel, in response to its aggression and siege of the Gaza Strip since last October.
The Houthi attacks in the Red and Arabian Seas caused great damage to the economy of most of the countries bordering the Red Sea, especially Egypt. They also hindered navigation in the strategic region through which 12% of global trade passes, and caused a doubling of the cost of transportation.
