72 people were killed and injured in traffic accidents in Yemen within one week

A recent government report, Thursday, May 9, 2024 AD, stated that 72 casualties were recorded, including dead and injured, caused by traffic accidents in the liberated Yemeni governorates, during the first week of this month of May 2024 AD, a few days after a government announcement of the death and injury of about 378 people during the first third of the year 2024 AD, in traffic accidents on the roads and cities of the liberated Yemeni governorates.
The Security Media Center of the Ministry of Interior confirmed that the liberated Yemeni governorates witnessed 77 traffic accidents during the first week of May, resulting in 72 deaths and injuries, indicating an increase in the severity of traffic accidents during the past period.
The center explained, in its statement, that these accidents claimed the lives of 7 people, while 65 others suffered various injuries, including 28 whose injuries were described as serious, while material losses amounted to more than 4.3 million riyals.
The Security Media Center at the Ministry of Interior indicated that most of the traffic accidents recorded in the same period were collisions between vehicles, with 44 incidents, followed by running over pedestrians, with 19 incidents, and 13 vehicle overturning incidents, in addition to one collision incident.
A few days ago, a government report confirmed that about 378 people died and were injured during the first third of the year 2024, in traffic accidents on the roads and cities of the liberated Yemeni governorates, most of them as a result of rough roads and excessive speed, in addition to many causes that may result from malfunctions. In vehicles, it loses control.
