Al-Muharrami directs to double oil efforts to enhance the stability of the food situation and ensure electricity supply

Abdulrahman Saleh Al-Muharami, member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Ministry of Oil and Minerals, called for redoubling efforts to enhance the stability of the food supply situation to meet the requirements and needs of the citizen and the local market, stressing the need to coordinate efforts to ensure the continued supply of diesel and fuel oil to power stations.
This came during his meeting today, Monday, in the capital, Aden, with the Minister of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Saeed Suleiman Al-Shammasi, Engineer Tariq Mansour Al-Walidi, Executive Director of the Oil Company, and Abdullah Omair, Executive Director of the Yemen Petroleum Investments Company, who presented a detailed report that includes the work progress of the Ministry and its facilities, and the plans followed. To reproduce and export oil and gas, the Ministry’s work programs, and the efforts made by its branches as well as oil companies in the governorates to organize the process of importing and marketing petroleum derivatives.
Al-Muharrami heard from Minister Al-Shammasi, a brief explanation of the ministry’s plans to enhance investment opportunities in the gas sector, stressing the importance of providing an attractive environment for investment, and launching strategic projects in this vital sector, to achieve self-sufficiency and strengthen the national economy in light of the difficult circumstances that are going on. Al-Muharrami stressed the necessity of organizing the process of importing petroleum derivatives and fuel designated for power generation stations, and ensuring the availability of diesel and diesel in sufficient quantities to keep the stations operating and maintaining the stability of the supply situation in the local market.
The meeting touched on the efforts of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals in the aspect of investment and oil exploration, and the importance of the role of the security services in protecting oil pipelines, especially in Shabwa Governorate, recommending assigning security units from the people of the governorate to protect oil pipelines in Shabwa.
Minister Al-Shammasi presented an aspect of the Ministry’s activities in the field of oil investments, and the Ministry’s plans to establish oil and gas reservoirs during the coming period in the governorates of Aden, Hadramaut, and Socotra. In this regard, Al-Muharrami expressed his satisfaction with the moves taken by the Ministry to maintain oil supplies and prevent bottlenecks in The local market, stressing the intensification of oversight operations and the integration of efforts with all relevant government agencies and the private sector to achieve greater success in the ministry’s work during the next stage.
