Aden... Automated ovens and bakeries say they are threatened with bankruptcy

Owners of bakeries and automatic ovens in the capital, Aden, said that they had filed numerous complaints with their trade union association and with the leadership of the local authority in the Southern Governorate, demanding an end to the high prices of materials they are suffering from, which threatens to bankrupt their shops.
A local source said that the owners of bakeries and automatic ovens complained about the high prices of flour, yeast, oil, fuel, shop rents, and workers’ rents, in addition to the low price of the Yemeni riyal against foreign currencies, while they are obligated to sell at the old prices approved since the year 2022.
The source added that, despite waiting for the outcome of communication with the association and the governorate’s leadership, they confirm that raising bread prices has become inevitable, in light of the decline in the price of the local currency, and the inability of their stores to bear more losses that threaten to stop and close many businesses.
